5 Day - Prague Tour

Day One - Airport Transfer - Prague
Arrive into Prague Airport, where you will be met by your driver for a transfer into the centre to check-in at your centrally located hotel for the next 4 nights.

Day Two - Prague Castle - Library at Strahov Monastery- Monastery Brewery - Prague
Depart with your Prague Card for a morning visit to Prague Castle (entrance is free with the Prague Card), the largest castle in Europe and contains more than seven hundred rooms.  A castle was established on this site in the 9th century, and a Romanesque palace was erected in the 12th. In the 14th century, under the reign of Charles IV, it was rebuilt in the Gothic style. The final reconstruction of the Royal Palace took place under the Jagellons at the end of the 15th century, and at that time the builder Benedikt Rejt added the now-famous Vladislav Hall, also in Gothic style.  The castle was enlarged in the 16th century, especially after a big fire in 1541.   The Spanish Hall, in a new part of the castle, was added in the reign of Rudolf II, and it took its final form in the time of Empress Maria Theresa, under the direction of the architect M. Pacassi. After World War I the interior and gardens of the castle were renovated by the architect J. Plecnik.  This will be followed by a visit to the Library at Strahov Monastery; a massive library of ancient texts and volumes (used for filming scenes in film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) before visiting the Monastery Brewery.

Day Three - Czech Museum of Music - Church of St Nicholas - Prague City Museum - Prague
Today enjoy some sightseeing with your Prague Card and start with a visit to the Czech Museum of Music (free entry with your Prague Card) which is located in the former Baroque church of St. Maria Magdalena in Mala Strana, built in the 17th century according to a project by Francesco Caratti.

The unusual symbiosis of early Baroque church architecture with classicist utilitarian redevelopment and newly finished redevelopment for the music museum offers an impressive combination of monumentality and details to visitors.  This will be followed by the Church of St Nicholas (free entry with the Prague Card), where Mozart played the organ and it is a magnificent example of the "Prague Baroque" period of the 18th century.  On then to Charles Bridge (free with the Prague Card) which connects the old town with lesser town, this popular pedestrian bridge is filled with musicians, painters and vendors and offers spectacular views.   Finally enjoy a late afternoon visit to the Prague City Museum (free entry with you Prague card) and the highlight is a carefully crafted model of the City of Prague in the early 1800's.

Day Four - Jewish Prague Walking Tour - Jewish Museum - Prague
Today enjoy a Jewish Prague Walking Tour and during this walking tour you will see the only Central European Jewish town-quarter that survived the holocaust. You will stroll through the Old Jewish Cemetery, you will visit four of the six surviving synagogues and you will be shown Kafka's house on Old Town Square.  A visit will be included to the Jewish Museum, one of the best of its kind in Europe.    Rest of the day is at leisure to independently explore Prague.
